Apparitions & Appraisals: A Free TTRPG Experience
We've been playing TTRPGs for years here at Silver Dice Society and at some point you learn enough about game systems that you just have to try and make your own!
Enter Apparitions & Appraisals, the first of many micro TTRPG projects from the Silver Dice team! With writing and art by Alecks, editing by Colt, and play tested by members of the SDS discord server.
About the Game
Apparitions & Appraisals is a 3 page rule set designed for single player or small table gaming sessions. It's a cozy/spooky experience perfect for use as a solo journaling RPG or for short sessions of competitive play.
In the game you take on the role of someone opening up an antique shop for the first time. The twist? Every item that comes through your doors is haunted.
Hauntings can range from Friendly Phantoms to Evil Possessions and every time you acquire an item you roll for what that item is, it's condition, and the type of haunting attached to it.
But all hope is not lost! If you want to make an item easier to sell Apparitions & Appraisals has optional rules for exorcising items!
Finally each day you have a chance to sell items and interact with customers. This game is designed to work without a GM, but if played with a group or duo a GM could seamlessly step into the role of customers (and potentially also play the hauntings).
What you do between the shop hours of each day is up to you, you can stick to recording sales and acquisitions or play out the rest of your shopkeepers life, the rules are just a starting point!
Start your Game
All you need to start playing Apparitions & Appraisals are two six sided dice (feel free to steal them from another game), a writing utensil and some paper.
